City Government

Entiat became an incorporated City in May of 1944. It is a non-charter, code City. Leadership includes a five-member elected City Council led by an elected Mayor. The City also has a five-member Planning Commission, and Economic Development Advisory Board, a Tree Advisory Board, and a Park Advisory Board. All Planning Commission and Advisory Board members are appointed by the Mayor.

City departments include Public Works, Planning & Building, and Business & Administration. Legal and Engineering services are contracted out. Fire and Emergency Medical Services are provided by Chelan County Fire District # 8 (the largest and only all-volunteer fire department in Chelan County) and law enforcement by the Chelan County Sheriff’s Department.
